Welcome

William Cappel Elementary School

Welcome to William R. Cappel Elementary School, Home of the Comets!

Welcome to William Cappel Elementary! I’m Alicia Evans, and I am honored to serve as the principal of this incredible school community.

Since joining the Lincoln County R-III School District in 2011, I have been fortunate to serve in a variety of roles that have shaped my passion for education. My journey began as a fifth-grade teacher at Boone Elementary before becoming the assistant principal at Lincoln Elementary. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri–St. Louis and my Master's degree in School Administration from William Woods University. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Maryville University.

Outside of school, my husband and I are proud parents of two sons who attend Lincoln County R-III schools. As a family, we enjoy spending time together through sports, traveling, fishing, days at the lake, and making memories with family and friends.

At WCE, we are proud to be more than a school; we are a family. Our mission is to Work together, Create relationships, and Educate all, so every Comet discovers their purpose and reaches their fullest potential. This mission guides every decision we make and every interaction we have.

Everything we do is centered on providing exemplary experiences, trusting relationships, and superior instruction for every student, every day. We believe that when schools and families work together, incredible things happen. By building strong partnerships and creating a culture of trust, every child is empowered to take risks, celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, we establish consistent expectations that promote respect, responsibility, and safety. These shared expectations create a welcoming environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to do their very best.

The partnership between home and school is one of the greatest influences on student success. As parents and caregivers, you are your child's first and most important teacher, and we value the trust you place in us each day. Open, positive communication allows us to work together in supporting every student's growth. We also encourage families to become involved through our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Whether you volunteer often or just a few times throughout the year, your involvement strengthens our school community and enriches the experiences of all students.

Watching our Comets learn, grow, and thrive from kindergarten through fifth grade is one of the greatest joys of our work. We are excited to partner with your family throughout your child's elementary journey and are committed to making each year one filled with meaningful learning, lasting relationships, and memorable experiences.

Together, we will work together, create relationships, and educate all as we prepare every Comet for a bright future.

Warmly,

Mrs. Alicia Evans
