Dear Cappel Families,

Welcome to William R. Cappel Elementary School, home of the Comets! 

I’m Alicia Evans, principal of William R. Cappel Elementary. Since 2011, I’ve had the privilege of working in the Lincoln County R-III School District. My journey began as a fifth-grade teacher at Boone Elementary, followed by the role of assistant principal at Lincoln Elementary. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a Masters in School Administration from William Woods University. Currently, I’m working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University. Both of my sons are students in the Lincoln County R-III School District. As a family, we enjoy sports, time on the lake, fishing, traveling, and spending time with our loved ones.

As a member of the WCE family, not only will your student learn how to read, write, and solve mathematical problems, but they will also learn how to think critically. Our teachers are dedicated to developing future leaders who can think independently with competence and confidence that will allow them to achieve goals beyond their wildest dreams.

Through PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports), we set universal expectations and language that will create a learning environment for your student to grow both personally and academically. As a team of parents, students, and staff, we will achieve academic excellence and reinforce sound character values to provide an exceptional foundation for your student’s academic career.

We look forward to the opportunity to meet and work with your student in the weeks and years to come. There is no doubt that the WCE teachers and support staff are critical members in the lives of your student. The exceptional staff members at William R. Cappel work diligently to provide your student with a positive, high-quality educational experience.  There is no greater excitement than to observe and participate in daily learning activities. It is with great pride and satisfaction to watch the overall progress and growth of our students from kindergarten to 5th grade.

Your role as the parent is the most important piece of our puzzle. It is critical that the relationship between school and home is strong and productive. Consistent and positive communication is vital in helping your student reach and exceed their highest potential. In addition to regular communication with your child’s teacher, our PTO would be an excellent way to help foster that relationship, and it would provide you with many opportunities to have a greater influence on your student’s education. It doesn’t matter if you can help a lot or a little because any amount of time will help. If you are interested in this organization, please do not hesitate to call the office.
